RotorFlight 2.3: Governor modes

Key Changes to Throttle Type

The options under the new Throttle Type menu define exactly how the Flight Controller reads your radio's throttle channel input to decide what the target headspeed should be:

  • NORMAL: This replicates a traditional throttle curve setup. The flight controller maps the raw input value directly from your transmitter’s throttle channel to a linear headspeed target.
  • SWITCH: This mode is built for switch-activated flight modes (like a 3-position Idle Up switch). Instead of calculating a fluid curve, it looks for discrete steps or specific switch positions to jump straight to pre-configured, flat target RPM values.
  • FUNCTION: This assigns the throttle target calculation to internal flight controller logic or complex expressions, freeing up the throttle stick channel entirely for other custom tasks or variable adjustments during testing.
