Pre-requisite: - 4 point hover Intro Figure 8 & Circuits: - You have established your basic understanding of this manuever. It's time for refinement! - Practice bank, yank, follow w/rudder and manage collective technique. - Start to focus on maintaining solid and consistent altitude throughout the manuever. Depth training: - Bring model up to tail-in hover at center, fly away from pilot to a comfortable distance, pull nose up and hold, manage with collective, allow model to stall, perform 180 and allow gravity to accelerate model to velocity, pull out to level as the model descends allowing the model to fly back to pilot, when near, pull nose up (manage altitude w/collective) and allow the model to come to a stop. - Repeat maneuver at "Stage right" and at "stage left". 3) tightening the circuits: learn to push more elevator (while managing the rudder & collective) to make the circle smaller (both upright & inverted). You will find that you are going to spend a lot of time trying to discover the combination of aileron, elevator, pitch, and rudder. In the playback, you will notice I take the circuit into small circles and then large circles and back again - all being managed by varying the amount of input of all the above. Often, you will notice that adding more of one input will cause you to decrease another input. pay close attention to this. Also notice that when you graduate from small circles to big circles or vice versa that that combination of inputs is also affected. This is one of those things that cannot be instantly taught it has to be practiced over and over again until you develop a sense for the combination of inputs and at which later point starts to become as we've talked about before, instinct.
