Introduction
What are PIDs?
So let's start this off in a way that is very basic and anyone can understand.. PIDs are software parameter that allows you to tune your flight controller to your specific model aircraft. When tuned correctly, pilots will remark it as a model that "flies right" and if done very well, it flies like it's "locked in". A flight student once asked me, "please help me, my model doesn't fly right". I replied back with, "What is it doing "wrong"? - and he couldn't answer me with anything more than, "it just just doesn't feel right". In simple terms RC Heli pilots refer to this as "gyro gain" and in actuality, PIDs are the motion behaviour tuning parameters that comprise all the details of what we call "gain".Mapping Flight behaviour to PIDs.
